We Sent to the Ministry of Justice Our Proposal Suggesting Evaluation Grid

We sent to the Ministry of Justice our proposal suggesting which criteria should the evaluation commissions take into account in the process of selection of judges. Since the Government has included into its program declaration our recommendation to select judges on the basis of uniform evaluation grid. Since many years ago we have been pointing out to the fact that tender procedures for judges are not transparent because there were not set uniform criteria to assess candidates which has created a large space for the subjective evaluation of the members of the evaluations commissions. New rules would require all evaluation commissions to use the same evaluation grid. Judges should be the best from the best. That is why apart from professional capacities we suggest to evaluate also their personal capacities, e.g. whether their represent a natural authority, they inspire trust and respect and they can control their emotions.
